Powell marksman leads Florida Marine Patrol shoot
Destin based officer Mark Powell, a 39 year old Marine Patrol veteran and firearm instructor, scored 295 of 300 the first two days and 299 of 300 on the final day. He helped design a new state wide firearms course and aims to improve it yearly. Powell credits disciplined training for potential life or death protection and notes his expertise includes pistol shotgun and rifle. He earned an expert rating in military pop ups and holds skeet commendations from Carter.
