Walton County and Property Appraiser Bill Fountain report the state Department of Revenue found no relief options for reworking the 1980 tax roll. County and WCTA Open Redistricting Court Battle Monday
Walton County and the Walton County Taxpayers Association launch a court fight over redistricting. George Day contends the five commission districts improperly follow population, not geographic variance, with a one-man, one-vote standard. A writ of mandamus seeks to force single-member districts, or a countywide referendum, and both injunction and dismissal motions are set for 11 a.m. at DeFuniak Springs courthouse.
