Miss Destin 1984 Mona Kilpatrick Celebrates Beach Life
Mona Kilpatrick, seven year Destin resident nicknamed beach gypsy by her mother Martha, wins Miss Destin 1984. She has lived in multiple beachfront units and houses, enjoys modeling, tennis, and jazz dancing, and aims to study corporate law at Florida State University. Kilpatrick plans to preside at this fall’s Youth Legislature and learn parliamentary procedures while balancing modeling and beach activities. She also anticipates moving to a new house on Indian Bayou and hopes to fish more in Destin. She was born in Weisbaden Germany and grew up in Geneva, Alabama, before moving to Fort Walton Beach. She credits the friendly, close-knit community for drawing her to Destin. She proceeds to participate in local events, including the Primrose fish fry where she will draw a winning painting.
