Harbor Study Panel Sought By POD
Preservation of Destin president Jane Moore and DER district manager Bob Kriegel propose a locally appointed harbor committee to study Old Pass Lagoon. The panel would monitor intergovernmental work, advise on permits and dredge rules, and coordinate with state, federal, and local agencies to identify pollution sources and improve environmental quality. The idea has support from Commissioner Mike Mitchell with reservations about creating a new body.
