My Very Own Operation at General Hospital Fort Walton
A diary style account of a patient recounting a long hospital stay at General Hospital Fort Walton. The narrator describes a comical escapade from arrival to operation day, the cast of nurses and doctors, hospital food, and the quirky rituals of hospital life, ending with anticipation of fishing season and a return home. The piece names staff like Mary Wright and nurse Carol Albright, mentions doctors Dan Beraha and Juan Carlos Vollenweider, and references destinations such as Destin and Pier 98.
