Water Committee To Map Wells In Walton Okaloosa

Okaloosa County Commissioner Mike Mitchell leads talks to map wells in Walton and Okaloosa counties as Destin, Walton, and Okaloosa plan an interlocal study of future water needs. The plan creates a regional authority with two elected officials from each area. It will coordinate water, sewage, and solid waste within the Resource Management Plan area but excludes Eglin AFB drilling or waste disposal.

CDC seeks 43,000 Vietnam era veterans for $76 million health study

The Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta plans a large health survey of up to 43,000 Vietnam era Army veterans to assess cancer risk and health effects from herbicide exposure. The study, launched in 1983, will compare veterans with similar backgrounds as a control group, excludes other branches, and releases initial findings in 1988.
