Destin Chamber Eyes Building Fund From Seafood Festival Profits
The Destin Chamber of Commerce board approved earmarking festival profits excluding beer booth earnings for a chamber building fund and placed proceeds in a high yield account. The beer booth will operate both festival days with revenues shared by the Destin Community Center, Destin Library and Preservation of Destin. The county also enacted an ordinance restricting literature on beaches, prohibiting commercial activities and glass containers in parks, and limiting vehicle use to designated areas, with enforcement potentially problematic.
