Isle Destin Pointe Resort Deal Reaches Agreement
The Destin Pointe Resort project receives association approval granting control over about 44 acres of land while avoiding litigation. Bernard Renshaw, a board member, calls it an equitable compromise. The joint agreement with Destin Guardian Corp president Sidney Weniger extends association control, with earlier concept approvals in 1984 and 1985. A federal bill to raise the height limit from 75 to about 200 feet awaits Congressional finalization after Senate passage. The Pentagon has indicated approval of the project.
