Walton County Crime Drops Across Most Categories in 1984
Florida FDLE reports Walton County saw declines in seven crime categories for Jan to Sept 1984, with murders unchanged at one per year. Rapes fell from five to one, robberies from seven to four, assaults from 46 to 20, burglaries from 127 to 64, larcenies from 267 to 171, and motor vehicle thefts from 33 to 14. FDLE continues compiling Oct–Dec data for a statewide crime report.

Moratorium Question Gauges Countywide Area Boundaries
Voters weigh where a moratorium should apply covering the entire county and areas south of Choctawhatchee Bay and the intracoastal waterway, Highway 98, and County Road 30A. Questionnaires are available at distributing businesses and hearings.
