Retirement home proposed for Beach Drive in Destin
About 50 seniors heard Ralph McCool outline Methodist Homes for the Aging plans for a one story 38 unit retirement facility on Beach Drive. The project would seek a direct 100 percent loan from Farmer’s Home Administration with rent around 200 dollars plus utilities. The facility would include a resident manager, arts and crafts rooms, game spaces and transportation, with no in house dining. Applications and surveys are being distributed at the Destin Chamber of Commerce and via Real Estate International of Destin to prove need for FMH support.
