ABWA to Choose Woman of Year at Destin Meeting
Destin ABWA will hold its January 16 meeting at Sandpiper Cove Yacht Club to select the 1984 Woman of the Year from three finalists Jan Freiburger Janis Irwin and Robbie Cosper. Deputy John McDowell will present a film Rape Prevention Rape Crisis and attendees may request invitations from Sharon King at 651 6913.

Toys For Tots Campaign Sparked Local Cheer and Aid
Warner Amex Cable launched a Toys for Tots drive with a 50 percent installation discount for a $5 toy donation. The effort gathered over 1,775 toys, split roughly evenly between new and used, aided by the Marine Recruiting Office and Brownie troops. A Toy Auction raised over $2,600 in new toys, with $581 donated to United Way, and leftovers distributed through Headstart and Family Outreach programs. Robert W. Schroll expressed gratitude and pride in the community effort.

Poster Contest Slated for Florida Students
The 1984 Consumer Education Poster Contest, funded by Citibank, invites entries by March 1. Categories span primary, middle, and secondary grades with judging on design, creativity, clarity, and neatness. Each school may submit up to five posters. entries must be mailed to Marie Foster in Tallahassee with full student details. Prizes include bonds and trips for state and national winners, awarded during National Consumer Week.
