Emergency limits set for Spanish Mackerel in Gulf and Atlantic
A 3.7 million pound commercial quota and a four fish per trip recreational bag limit apply to Spanish Mackerel in federal waters of the Gulf of Mexico and South Atlantic for 90 days starting January 1. Quotas are Atlantic 1.869 million, Eastern Gulf 1.501 million, Western Gulf 0.346 million pounds. Open areas close when quotas are reached. trafficking from closed areas is unlawful.
