South Walton Fire District plans move toward tax district approval
Tim Taylor of South Walton Emergency Services says a proposed ordinance to create a three member Fire District for South Walton would tax domiciles at 25 dollars and commercial property by size up to 300 dollars per year. The plan, set for county fire board review and then a public referendum, preserves funds for South Walton and outlines board appointments from three precincts. A March 1 election will fill Echols's vacancy, and a 1980 modular ambulance was approved for 3500 dollars with older equipment repurposed for non critical transfers. Plans also include a March 26 arts show with at least 19 exhibitors.
