SWU Plans Bid Let For New Sewage Plant Expansion
SWU president John Main says a Department of Environmental Regulation permit should arrive within 10 days to allow bids on the plant expansion. The contract aims for 165 days to completion and a ready date in April, expanding capacity to about 8,000 taps to meet needs through 1992 to 1994. Main notes the project follows the utility’s five year plan and mentions potential central water and sewer system work on beaches if asked.
