Destin Contemplates 100 Percent Fee Hikes for Permits
Okaloosa County planning board proposes sharp increases in construction, building permit, and inspection fees with a $200 appeal fee and $20 hourly information charges. Major rises include moving fees from 10 to 50 dollars for structures and from 4 to 25 dollars for demolitions, while sewer taps would rise to 7.50. Commissioner Agro questions data and requests justification as the department faces budget concerns and potential surplus. A sunset clause to end the schedule by Oct 1 is considered.
