Post Office Hit Again At Miramar Beach
A Walton County sheriff investigator said a late Sunday or Monday break in at the Highway 98 Miramar Beach post office netted cash and a money order machine. The incident follows a Dec. 14 hold up when a money order was stolen and later found in Pensacola. A postal worker recalled a gunman asking for a money order to conceal numbers.

Destin Fire District Plans Two New Firefighters in 1983
The Destin Fire Control District aims to hire two full time firefighters by mid January at about 32000 dollars annually with one position at 14000 and the second at 13000. The panel considers paying volunteers a fire by fire rate plus a Christmas bonus up to 300 dollars and a two year contract begins January 1983.

Okaloosa County officials completed a recount of 92 ballots from a faulty machine and confirmed five incumbents stay on the Destin fire commission.
