Walton County Airport Authority Elects Officers

Country Star George Strait Files Counterclaim in Foreclosure Case

Country singer George Strait and his wife Norma allege in Okaloosa Circuit Court that an Alabama bank's negligence allowed three men to conspire to steal funds. The counterclaim targets First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Andalusia for a 376000 dollar loan default tied to eight Beal Parkway condo units. Strait claims Yeargin conspired with seller Bernard Bagley and developer Gerald Corlew to inflate the appraisal, enabling the loan and allowing down payment funds to be pocketed. The suit seeks over 1 million dollars and a jury trial, citing potential RICO violations by the other parties. Strait has been named male vocalist of the year by CMA and ACM for the past two years.
