Two anti Contra protesters jailed for trespass
Two protesters were sentenced to 30 days in prison for trespassing on federal property at Hurlburt Field. Rev Royapeee, a Maryknoll priest, knelt at the main gate on November 30 and blocked traffic. Louis DeBenedette of New Haven, arrested December 13, lay in front of the gate to halt traffic. They were found guilty in three separate trials before U.S. Magistrate Susan Novotny and get credit for time served.

AMRAAM Scores A Direct Hit On Low-Flying Target Drone
The AMRAAM fired from an F A 18 achieved a direct hit on a QF 86 drone at China Lake California in a look down shoot down test. The launch marked the 6th F A 18 test and the 18th success in 21 full scale development program launches. The Navy fighter flew at Mach 07 and 21000 feet while the target drone was also at Mach 07 at a low altitude.

AMRAAM missile guidance and holiday deadlines noted
Prior to launch the missile received target data from the F A 18 and continued updates via data link after launch. The AMRAAM used its onboard active radar to lock on and guide to the target. The Armament Division at Eglin AFB oversees the joint Air Force Navy program. The Log offices close at noon Wednesday for Christmas. Editorial deadlines for Dec 24 and 27 issues are 5 p m Monday and 3 p m Wednesday respectively.
