Bed Tax Boundaries Include Destin and Nearby Areas
Okaloosa County's Tourist Development Council moves to include all of Destin and parts of Okaloosa Island and Fort Walton Beach in a proposed bed tax area. A March 25 1986 referendum is tentatively scheduled. The plan aims to fund beach restoration and tourist promotion, with officials projecting about $760 000 in the first year if approved.
