Okaloosa County Engineer Dave Heinrich announces Mountain Drive will be resurfaced and widened for 4 200 feet with drainage upgrades from Stahlman Avenue to Benn ing Drive. An additional 300 feet at Benning Road and Highway 98 will add a right turn lane. Commissioner Mike Mitchell lists six Niceville Valparaiso roads and four on Okaloosa Island in the 1984 program.

State Blames Line Break For Way Associates Blast
State investigator pins the Way Associates explosion on a broken gas line left during renovations after a motel remodel. Bradenton Man Injured In Head-On Crash On U S 98
A Bradenton man, 29-year-old Alan Ray Graham, is in intensive care in a stable but guarded condition after his 1974 Corvette crossed the center line on U S 98 in Destin Monday at 9 05 p m. He was struck head on by a 1975 Chevrolet pickup driven by 30-year-old Charles Stephen Smith of Mary Esther. Passengers in the pickup were 22-year-old Nettie Franks and 21-year-old David Childs, both of Mary Esther. none of the pickup occupants were injured. Graham faces charges including making an improper turn. He was taken to Humana Hospital Fort Walton Beach by ambulance. FHP trooper R C Brooks is investigating.
