County Trades Beachfront Land To Define 100 Foot Right Of Way
Okaloosa County commissioners partially resolved a five year dispute over a 100 foot right of way on Holiday Isle. They approved a swap of land along Old Pass lagoon for beachfront on East Pass to allow East Pass Towers developer Art Hill to move the project back from the water. The deal defines the easement and sets its northeast boundary with Hill’s parcel. The road would shift laterally but not extend. Hill must obtain the new right of way while the county relinquishes beach area based on the road relocation. The vote was four to one with Chairman Bill Peebles Jr. opposed.
