A fight in the Holiday Inn Destin parking lot led to four men being charged with affray and three others with unlawful assembly. Suspects include Michael Bennett and James Dean Lee of Fort Walton Beach, Bobby S. Martin of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and John J. Fernandez of Kenner, LA. Additional arrests involve Timothy Anglin and David Baker of Destin with unclear details. The incident began when an unknown person entered the restaurant through an open kitchen door and moved an office to the center, with no further disturbances reported.

Hester Sally Gonzalez aged 72 of Bagloop Drive Freeport Florida died Saturday August 16 1986. Native of Georgia she lived in Freeport for 40 years and belonged to Freeport United Methodist Church. Survived by husband Hugh F Gonzalez of Freeport former Pensacola resident and brother John Wood of Fort Walton Beach plus many nieces and nephews. Memorial service held Tuesday August 19 at 2 p.m. from Freeport United Church.
