Great Weekend for Destin Anglers Draws Deep Crowds
Fishing activity surged along Destin with anglers aboard many boats and charter trips reporting standings of king mackerel and snapper. Captains John Cox and Fred Sublette led notable catches including 30 and multiple 20s to 60 head, while other vessels reported wahoo, grouper, amberjack and red snapper. A yacht incident near a marked dive area drew concern, as Destin Yacht Club plans a Sept memorial billfish tournament and community boats continue to share Gulf waters with high respect for reef areas.
