Telegraphic communication with the world resumed in the Dermott office after a general order from the president of the Order of Railway Telegraphers lifting the commercial ban that had been in effect since June 12.
The Dermott Bottling Works submitted a water sample to the International Filter Co for analysis. Their report indicates the water is practically 100 percent pure on a basis of 100000 with content including calcium carbonate magnesium carbonate sodium carbonate sodium sulphate sodium chloride silica aluminum oxide and other components.
The revival closed last Sunday night after two full weeks. Despite rain and a leaky tent, attendees stayed to finish the service. Rev. G. W. Belk preached scriptural messages while Rev. A. Lo Carter led singing with duets by Carter and Lyle Gillhar.
Miss Laura Belle Woods and Mr. Paul Colbert were married last Sunday evening at the home of the bride’s sister Mrs. R. P. Bly with Rev. W. A. Belle officiating. They left for a wedding trip and will reside here where the bride has long made her home. The groom is a traveling salesman for Barbeau Produce Co. of Pine Bluff.
The Baptist Ladies' Aid met Monday afternoon in Hotel Dermott parlors with sixteen members present. Mesdames J. C. and Walter Douglass hosted a chat and sewing session, near completion of the quilt, with a luncheon for all. The monthly silver offering supports the parsonage fund. new member Mrs. Miles joined and several visitors attended.
The Dermott church schedules a Bible study Sunday morning and morning and evening services to bid farewell to Reverend Crenshaw who sails soon for mission work in China. Members and community are invited to attend all events.
The Baptist church announces regular services next Sunday with Sunday school starting at 1 pm. The pastor preaches at 11 am and 8 pm on a theme called The Wall of God. Evening service is evangelistic. Ladies Aid meets Monday at 1 pm and Prayer Meetings are Wednesday at 8:15 pm. TH Jordan, Pastor.

All physicians and midwives are notified by law to report all births and physicians must report all deaths and contagious diseases. The Bureau of Vital Statistics requires this data to keep correct records. Report births and deaths to Mrs J and contagious diseases to Dr J A Thompson.
