Local merchants urge early Christmas shopping with specials at The Alex and savings on wood, corsets, wagons, and groceries. Notices include a meeting at the mayor’s office next Tuesday, Red Cross Seals campaigns, and a string of social and business visits in Dermott.
Dermott plans a municipal Christmas tree on Christmas Eve at 7 pm if weather allows, with open air on Main Street or indoors if needed. Sunday schools form committees to organize Good Fellows Publicity Purchasing Decorating Lighting Program Finance and Tree operations, meeting at the Methodist church to finalize arrangements and report plans.
A Somerset New York lyceum note from October 1915 highlights the Mendelasohn Sextette as a rare capable orchestra and vocal ensemble act with stylish costumes and balanced entertaining programs. A typical letter from S W Frost praises their artistry and urges securing them for courses.

Dermott Sunday schools launch a joint effort to prevent Christmas disappointments by asking local parents or friends to mail notes to Tax 486. The Good Fellows committee will arrange gifts for children in need, listing names ages and addresses in notes. Committee members include Mrs. George Newman as chair and Mesdaines Jb Remley W S Daniel Frank Johnson Claud Henry N Denson R J Woolfolk and Lon Etter.
The Citizens Gin Company of Der Mott is formed to build operate and maintain a new up to date cotton gin at this place. Work on the plant begins early in January. It will feature the latest machinery and be run by Porter Bros and Kirkpatrick D Kimpel W H Leptiew and other local cotton experts who will trade in cotton and cotton seed.
Citizens are urged to buy Red Cross Christmas seals to place on packages and letters. Proceeds support tuberculosis work in the state. Stamps cost one cent each and are available at Bordeaux's Drug Store, McCroskey's Billiard Parlor, or from Altrurian Club members.
