Edgar Stanton became the owner of a Maxwell touring car last week. He received the vehicle on a Saturday and has since been busy learning the car’s operation and chauffeur duties.
A. W. Aman advertises farms priced at 20 to 50 dollars per acre with good corn wheat and oats. He cites expected yields of 20 to 35 bushels of wheat and 50 to 75 bushels of oats, inviting readers to come and inspect.
The first joint preliminary teachers institute will convene at Peru high school on Thursday September 9 with about 150 township teachers expected. Trustees will sign contracts for the upcoming county school year and the reading circle book for study is The Teacher and the School. Trustee A C Baldwin switches from township to joint institute.
The National Conference of the Brethren Church held at Winona Lake last week was called the best yet for attendance and interest. Sunday school attendance reached 1 009 with offerings of 227 dollars. Banner Class taught by Rev. Lu G. Wood of Denver had 54 members and 30 dollars offered. The conference session closed, leaving inspiration to carry the work forward.
Dr. G W Musselman contracted for two vacant East Washington Street lots once owned by the late Joseph Norris. He plans to take possession soon and build a modern bungalow, hoping to complete it this fall.
Chet Wright has rented the business room on Harrison Street recently vacated by Donnaldson's Drug Store. He has not stated the exact business but plans to announce the venture soon.

Sells and buys brief notes report Charley Grimes traded his Brush auto to Ed Goff last week and by Monday this week he pursued a new Ford touring vehicle.
Noted orators Hon. J Frank Hanly Hon. Oliver W Stewart Dr Carolyn E Geisel and Miss Vera Mullin with Miss Ir ig Robinson will lead a six day series at the Elk’s Strand September 14 to 19 under the Flying Squadron Foundation. The program draws broad community support with free admissions and wide organizational backing from churches schools temperance groups and civic clubs.
All Miami County schools start next Monday September 13. Teachers ready. contracts likely at Thursday September 9 institute. No textbook changes for grade schools this year and students should have easy access to books.
Reverend L G Wood who has served the Brethren church in Denver for three years accepts a call to the First Brethren Church in Roanoke Virginia and will move by October first. During his tenure he won many friends who will miss him though the promotion is welcomed by all. Wood and family have contributed to the up building of Denver and surrounding community and will be greatly missed.
Rev J F Rake of St Louis will lead a special service at Denver Baptist Church on Wednesday evening September 15 1915 at 445 PM. Italian minister Rev Gidoni on the program at the Baptist State Convention this year will speak that evening. Public invited to attend.
E D Leavitt has moved his general store from Arcadia to Shirley Indiana. He previously operated a store in each town but consolidated them due to the workload. The new location is about twenty five miles northeast of Indianapolis.
C. W. Long sold his Ford to Ross McDaniels of Chili and plans to buy another car in the spring, saying he cannot do without a vehicle.
The Woolleytown Threshing Ring finished threshing for the season on August 30 and held a settlement on August 31. They threshed 386 acres of wheat for 11,739 bushels, an average of 30.1 bushels per acre, with A. J. Long leading at 429.34 bushels per acre from 34 acres. The group praised fertilizer for fall seeding and noted a strong corn crop as well.
On Saturday L. F. Cooper shipped household goods to Butler while Mrs. Cooper and baby took the evening train to their new home. Monday R. R. Shenk moved goods from Hoovers to the Denver property recently vacated by Mr. and Mrs. Cooper.
C W Long received a telegram announcing the marriage of his son Russell to Miss Myrtle Lininger of Elkhart Indiana. The ceremony occurred in Omaha Nebraska on Monday with telegrams confirming the event received afterwards.
