Mrs Columbus Murphy a longtime Rochester resident and former active charities worker died after a yearlong battle with cancer at her South Elm Street home She was born Sarah Cook August 6 1851 in Miami County Ohio and married Columbus Murphy November 12 1871 The couple moved to Rochester in 1889 She leaves husband two children T A Murphy of Rochester and Mrs L W Davidson of South Bend Funeral services were held at the Baptist church with Rev C Davisson delivering the sermon Interment followed in the IOOF cemetery
