Hon Burton Green visited Leiters Fort on a business trip last Thursday. Alma Baker of Pers visited her mother Mrs John Losher. Mrs John Brubaker and Miss Velma Cunningham were on the sick list this past week. J C Simonton had another run away in the cornfield with no damage. Mrs John Krathwohl and Rosa spent Saturday in Rochester. Raber returned from Leavenworth Kansas after four years and visits Burg area. J C McElwee and wife visited Denver friends last Sunday. Rev J B Bair left Crown Hill for Burly Sunday morning. Van Kreider went to Peru Monday and saw Fitzsimmons and visited Oil City.

Local residents attend events as town boosts oil boom

Mexte John Dukes resumes business matters. Jesse McLain and Hugh Ireland joined the soup meeting at Roan Saturday and Sunday. Dr. Moore has rebuilt his office with a wood-house. The town booms since oil discovery. Jesse Woods was seen on the streets last week. T. H. Ireland and wife spent Sunday in Logansport.

Thief Steals Horse and Wagon. Recovered in Rochester

A horse and road wagon belonging to Wm Landis were stolen from a hitching rack last Friday. Cheston Long led a statewide hunt, tracing the rig to Rochester where the thief was found in a livery barn trying to sell the horse for ten dollars. The barn owner offered only five dollars and arrested the man, who was jailed and later taken to Penn awaiting trial.

Missionary couple to Chicago after sermon at M E church

Rev. J. K. Ford, a young minister from North Manchester, delivered a deep lecture at the M E church on The Bible or Infidelity Which. He and his wife plan to depart soon as missionaries to a tough Chicago district after much study and preparation.

Denver Gas and Oil stockholders halt new wells

A Denver meeting of the Denver Gas and Oil Company stockholders decided not to drill another well. After settling accounts, the remaining funds will be divided among shareholders.
