Snow and sleet briefly slowed activity in Gilead as Sommer & Co. advertised with a large door sign while residents went about social visits. M. E. Murphy of Denver traveled to town on business. Miss Jessie Weaver of Akron visited the Landes sisters, and Frank Zimmerman of Disko called on Miss Anna Waite. Guns, the famous lecturer, will likely appear soon.

Twelve Mile Mt Carme Church Meeting and Thanksgiving

A meeting at Mt Carme Church drew interest with a Thanksgiving feast planned for Thursday. Proceeds totaled 20 dollars after a large turnout at the Chr church event. James Martin family relocated to Denver. Bethlehem M T church hosted quarterly meeting with a dinner for sister societies. Albert Skinner to build on his farm. John Kline plans a new gallery. George Milby to construct a gallery next spring. If town grows, it may rival Denver.

Death claim clarification on Mull policy confusion

In last week’s Tents account of John Mull’s death we stated he carried a 520,000 Mac cabees policy. That was incorrect. he actually carried only a $1,000 policy. Even so, the amount will aid the family. we urge married men in modest means to consider taking an ann ce policy for protection.

Death of Aunt Katie Kirby in Denver near family

Aunt Katie Kirby died about 9:30 PM after heart and stomach troubles. Born June 20, 1824 in Ohio, widow since her husband’s death, she lived with her daughter Mrs A J Medsker in town at death. Funeral held at M church with Rev Baker. buried West Lawn cemetery. Ten children survived from her marriage to Benjamin Kirby.
