A neighbor recounts attending Mrs. Thompson's funeral at Lafontaine on Monday. He notes Mrs. George Mikesell received her pension and back pay. He describes a devastating wreck scene seen near the area with a missing man, burned clothing and goods, and two gold watches still unfound.

Wesley Andrews, aged 79, shot himself at eight in the morning after years of poor health and fears of losing his mind. He died at 3 pm after doctors failed to save him. The Denver Indiana community extends sympathy to his widow and children. Funeral was held at home and his remains moved to Preble County, Ohio.
Minnie Murden, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Murden, married William Rowly of Greenville Michigan at the couple’s home Friday evening. The ceremony was by J M Baker, followed by a reception meal prepared by the bride’s mother. Friends and relatives extend congratulations and best wishes.
A burglary at M. E. Murphy’s Woolleytown home occurred last Saturday night with loss of sale notes valued around 350 dollars. A small amount of money and two watches were nearby but the thief fled. The notes were recovered Tuesday morning by Tell Murphy at the end of the lane.

Henry Murden born March 28 1824 in Baltimore county Maryland died Sept 22 1899 in Greentown Indiana aged 75 years 5 months 25 days. He married Elizabeth McCammon July 18 1850 who died Feb 23 1874 leaving four children. He remarried March 28 1877 to Ruth Stalker who died Jan 28 1897 leaving one child. He converted to methodism at eighteen and remained a devout member of the M E church.

A man named Miller, a recent tramp, was found dead on a sidewalk north of Hikenbery's restaurant by local youths. A doctor pronounced him dead. the coroner held an inquest Wednesday but the verdict is unknown. He had boarded over Fry's saloon and tinkered with clocks. Undertakers buried him at West Lawn cemetery. The piece also notes Epworth League activities for Sunday November 5 with speakers and music.
A new health law requires burial permits before interment. Undertakers or sextons must secure permits from the county city or town board of health or its agent. Violations risk a misdemeanor charge with fines from ten to one hundred dollars and possible coroner inquest.
