The M. E. Church lists Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. Morning Worship at 10:30 a.m. Epworth League at 6:30 p.m. Evening Worship at 7:30 p.m. Mid-Week Service Thursday at 8:00 p.m. Public invited. note hours change. Pastor Alvin F. White.
Bible Study at 10 30 a m led by Superintendent Omer Flora welcomes all attendees to participate in the church services and study sessions.
A large patriotic meeting will be held at Liberty Hall in Peru next Monday evening. War pictures from the Great War will be shown and the War Chest movement explained. Several General Pershing veterans are expected to attend and share observations from France. A large Denver area turnout is anticipated.

Mrs. L. Jones of Mexico spent Monday and Tuesday at the home of W. H. Howes and his wife. She attended the funeral of Mrs. Orpah Howes Tuesday afternoon at the Methodist Church. Buy seed potatoes at Moe-Caffrey & O., Peru, offering the best varieties at 7 cents per bushel.
Easton Guyer born July 27 1842 in Mi ami County Indiana died April 25 1918 at his Gas City home aged 75 years 8 months 28 days He married Catherine J Mackey April 21 1864 at Onward Indiana They had three sons Arthur Denver Scott and Cody and a daughter Anna Jane who died in infancy He leaves six grandchildren and many relatives Four years ago they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary He joined Mud Lake Christian Church in 1868 and served as an officer He was the oldest of twenty children with thirteen living Surviving siblings include Alicea Downey A D Guyer Flora Ward M K E Guyer Frank Hathaway Henry Guyer Joe Guyer Clara Philabaum Anna Downey Vernie Robbins Roy Guyer Vera Guyer and George Guyer The community will miss his cheerful manner and ready handshake
Miss Beulah Warner and Marvin L Maus wed Saturday at the Brethren parsonage in Denver Indiana with Rev L A Myers officiating. The couple, both popular Union township youths, plan to begin housekeeping on a Union township farm after May 15th.
Citizens of Denver and vicinity urged to attend a big patriotic meeting at the M E church next Friday evening May 24. A speaker will explain the War Chest drive pushed by leading state figures and Hon Albert Ward of Peru is listed as a principal speaker. Meetings will be held in every township and town in Miami County.
Peru firm McCaffrey & Co pays the highest price in the county for strictly fresh country eggs. The move signals strong demand for farm fresh produce.
Mrs Orpah Howes aged about 89 passed away at her East Harrison home after months of illness. A devout Christian, she was beloved for kindness and charity and leaves a brother Timothy Murden a son W H Howes a grandson W K Howes and a great granddaughter Ruth Howes. Funeral at the Methodist Church conducted by Rev A F White. Burial in I O O F cemetery. Floral tributes reflected high esteem.
The annual roll call of the Denver Knights of Pythias Lodge drew over half its members Friday evening. About twenty five Peru Lodge members attended to invite Denver to a be no party event later that month. The meeting featured lively talks and Lodge orchestra music amid high enthusiasm.
Robert Garritson, known as Bobbie, fractured his arm near the elbow while being pulled on a trike by older boys. He was taken to Rochester for X rays and treatment, with fears of a stiff joint later easing as the injury heals well.
Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Boober traveled to Zionsville last Saturday and attended a family gathering of Mr. Boober's relatives on Sunday.
Mr and Mrs Albert Fouts traveled to Sidney on Monday to help Rev and Mrs A T Ronk relocate their household goods to Warsaw where Ronk has been named pastor of the Brethren Church. About seventy five Sidney friends staged a surprise visit with ice cream and cake. The couple left with a hollow handle silver knife and fork set as a gift. Ronk recently sold his Sidney electric light plant to local buyers. The Fouts returned home Wednesday.
The Howes family expresses heartfelt thanks through the Tribune for services during illness and after the death of their mother. They name the pastor, those who aided in song, those who sent flowers, and others who helped in the home and church.
O A Phillips reassures coal patrons he remains in business and ready to serve, affirming ongoing operation and capacity to fix winter coal needs under war measures. He signs sincerely.
Due to failing health Jerry Burkholder sold his dray business to Emmett Raber of Macy. Raber took charge early this week and plans to move to Denver when a suitable location is found. Raber is a former Denver resident.

Clint Murphy and family visited Mrs Murphy's parents near Peru. Mary Lee, daughter of Henry and Mrs Lee, is ill with pneumonia. Paul Dewald added lightning rods and bought the Stockdale farm. Mrs Cook aided by visiting with Henry See's daughter ill. Lulu Sullivan returned from Indianapolis with Mary. P S Sullivan remodels interior. Mr Bender doing the work. Farmers busy planting corn.
Jane Cornell, longtime Denver resident, died Thursday at her southwest Denver home after a short illness. Death was from paralysis following a stroke earlier in the week. Funeral arrangements are not yet set but the service will likely be held Saturday.
Mr and Mrs W W Sellers and daughter Helen depart this morning by car for Dowagiac Michigan to visit Earl Sellers and his family for a few days.
