Glorious Triennial Odd Fellows Anniversary Celebration
The I O O F anniversary event last Saturday drew a large Peru contingent and visitors from Rochester Macy Deedsville Roann Akron Fulton and more. Despite rain and blues among committees the day ended with strong turnout at the M E church, speeches by Prof. Banta Grand Master Farrer and ceremonial work by Peru and Miami lodge staffs. The Ladies Aid Societies split over $50 from meals to support church work.

Prize Mushroom Haul near Macy Reported
In Peru Journal a huge mushroom find is noted near Macy. George Savage, about eleven, found an elm stump swarming with mushrooms while hunting a turkey nest. He filled a two gallon bucket and his shirt to the brim, then with his brother John carried the harvest home. He measured a little over a bushel and a peck. George offers to show his shirt to any who call.
