Miss Pearl I. Elvyo of a Chicago troupe was shot in the leg during a performance after she made remarks about the town. A man in the rear drew a revolver, fled into the crowd, and escaped as women and children screamed and fainted. the shooter remains at large.
Four Winona Technical Institute students in Indianapolis endured hazing by upperclassmen being held in an electrical circuit until unable to stand. Victims Murray Robinson Charles Fisher William Marsha and Edward Jonas aged 17 to 18 suffered after the incident and refuse to name their tormentors.
