Local road project advances toward Ebenezer

Mr and Mrs Claude Keim of Twelve Mile Mr and Mrs Elmer Lee of Anderson and Gordon Mikesell of Twelve Mile are involved as the Long road is graded from the north end of the pike to the White school house and then west to Ebenezer. When completed it will be a fine improvement.

Death of Edward Gerard Near Deedsville

Edward Gerard a 77 year old farmer near Deedsville died suddenly at work last Friday. He appeared strong for his age and likely died of heart failure while in the woods. A neighbor found him with his dog nearby after he did not return home for supper. Funeral services were conducted in Deedsville on Sunday with burial in the Deedsville cemetery.

Mrs Wade Dies After Long Illness in Denver Home

Mrs. Joseph Wade died Monday evening at her south Denver home after a short pneumonia illness. She had cared for her helpless invalid husband for over a year and leaves a husband two sons Noah Dininger of Indianapolis and Burton Wade of Berian Springs Michigan plus other relatives. Funeral service was held at the house Wednesday by Rev Hubbard of North Manchester and burial followed in the Denver I O O F Cemetery.

Ephraim Hill Dies in Deedsville Businessman

Ephraim Hill died at his Deedsville home after a lingering illness. He ran a general store in Deedsville for years. A post mortem will be held to determine the cause. The funeral is scheduled for this afternoon in Deedsville.

The Little Workers Club hosts an Ice Cream Social on the lawn of Mrs. Clara Piper in Denver Indiana on Saturday evening June 29. A cake and a dish of ice cream cost 5 cents, with the slogan Buy the cream and get the cake free. Everyone invited for a good time. Mr and Mrs W B Place left for Chicago for a few days. Miss Edith Fetrow visited her parents in Chili on Wednesday and Thursday.

Harriett Wright Marries Edgar Lewis in Denver Indiana

Harriett Wright daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Wright of North Manchester Indiana wed Edgar Lewis son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lewis of Denver Indiana. The ceremony at noon was by Rev. A L Wright with immediate family present. The couple will reside in Denver. Harriett taught primary room in Denver school prior to last year.

To Start Again Dukes Move Implements to New Store

To Start Again L. C. Dukes & Co move their stock of implements from Mr Grimes cement building on Harrison street to their newly erected store near the old store room. W E Howes Co lease the cement building and will remodel it into a large grocery dry goods and shoe store. The new Dukes store will be larger and better than the one destroyed by fire.

Quinns entertain Shanklins and grandchildren in Cutler visit

Mrs C E Quinn and Dr Quinn hosted the Shanklins of Cutler Ind and two granddaughters over Sunday. The note asks all who owe money to settle accounts at Farmers Bank Denver Ind to help restore the store business.
