Deedsville notes a busy weekend with visits among Peruvian and local families. reports include births, marriages, and a large funeral for Charles Strayer. Children’s Day planned for June 29 as community events continue with church and entertainment scheduled next Sunday night.
Mrs. E. S. Kline has been on the sick list this past week with a very severe gallstone attack. Mrs. W. E. Howes and daughter Ruth, and Mrs. Fort and son Raymond visited their sister Mrs. R. H. Berndt in Logansport Friday evening.
Administrator with the Will annexed of the Estate of William Sperry announces a public sale of the decedent's real estate in Miami County Indiana. The sale begins July 10 at the Peru office of Turst Rhodes Attorneys and continues daily to noon July 12. Levi Eiikenberry’s automobile overturned on a Sunday climb west of Mexico when the car slipped from the road. No injuries occurred but the rear wheel and body were damaged. Officials suspect engine shutdown during speed changes and brake failure.
The Taylor University Male Quartette performed at the M. E. Church on Monday evening. The concert drew a full house and was praised as the finest musical entertainment Denver has had in a long time. The reviewer asserts the boys reflect well on Taylor University.
J. B. Cook and J. A. Norris prepare to test speed in roadster showdowns. Spectators warned to watch for fast spins and quick finishes as the racers tune engines for upcoming events.
