Tombstone for Horse Charlie Buried in Aurora
Charlie the horse aged 38 died from blood poisoning after an insect bite. The horse belonged to John Wymond of Aurora and was widely beloved. A coffin burial occurred at the rear lot of Wymond’s home with many townspeople in attendance. James Wymond had obtained Charlie’s dam from General John Morgan during a raid through Indiana and raised the horse. A tombstone will be erected at Charlie’s grave.
