Fernald Fisher remembered for quiet helpful life

Fernald Tyson Fisher born June 27 1901 in this city died just as church bells called worshippers to devotions funeral services were led by the Christian church pastor A great crowd gathered at the family home for burial Fernald was the oldest son of Mr and Mrs Simon Fisher and a devoted Boy Scout and Bible student He died after a long battle with diabetes endured in Waukeshaw Wisconsin and Chicago Ill during treatment time with family and friends expressing deep sorrow over his untimely passing

Pretty Home Wedding Gathers Wabash Guests

The June wedding of Misa Ruth Woolley and Roy Sprout solemnized by Rev. Dr. Charles Little at the Woolley home on West Main Street featured daisies and smilax decor. The service included a ring ceremony, four course dinner, pink roses, a white cake, and wedding party details. The couple departed by 2:40 train for Yellow Banks and McKeesport Pa where Sprout works as a mechanical inspector.

Denverite friend assists baffled man with runaway Ford crank

A Denver man driving toward Peru encountered Al Fouts in the road near Denver who held a motor crank and said his Ford briefly ran away, then flew off the handle and could not be found. He stood dazed, looking into the trees as he explained the odd incident.

Last Saturday Agent L F Cooper and Assistant Ed Varian killed a large blue racer snake at Denver railroad depot. The reptile measured over five feet and appeared a whopper to the men describing the event.

Saturday show in Eaton features Alderfer's Overland Dog and Pony troupe carrying forty people, thirty Shetland ponies, twenty shorsea and seven dens of wild animals. Five clowns may appear. A baby girl named Dorothy Rosanna was born Tuesday to Mr and Mrs Rollin S Place. The infant weighs eight pounds and is described as full of energy. Both parents are pleased and report mother and child are doing well with Rollin keeping busy trying to meet the needs of his new daughter.

Denver Athletics Set for Jalapa Road Diamond Showdown

The Denver Athletics will visit Jalapa next Sunday for a double header against Jalapa on their home field. Then Monday they host a double header on the Denver diamond near Nelson Cook’s residence with the 8.8. boys first, followed by Hoover. Other games are being arranged for the fifth, with possible business men versus church men matchups.

The Brethren church concluded its three month attendance contest titled Trip to Palestine on Sunday. Enthusiastic participation increased church attendance. The Reds on the Mauritania under Captain Lawrence Ensley were surpassed by the Lusitania led by Captain Ed Yarlan on the return voyage.

John Hartley Powell obituary in Indiana death notice

John Hartley Powell born February 28 1843 in Logan County Ohio died June 18 1915 at his Perry township Miami County Indiana home aged 72. He served in the Eleventh Indiana Regiment and was discharged July 1865. He married Laura Sutton June 20 1867 and left eight children. Funeral at Pleasant Hill church June 20 with burial in Mount Zion Cemetery. survivors include wife Laura, children Ines Charles H Laura Daisy Wallace E Benjamin B Daniel L, sisters Nancy and Margaret Quigg.
