Mexico Bay Teen Charged With Rape
Marvin Bernard son of farmer James Bernard living northwest of Mexico was arrested last Wednesday on rape charges involving Wanda Zartman daughter of Noah Zartman. He appeared before Judge Tillet under $2500 bond, later released on $1500 bond by Morgan Turnipseed. The girl is reportedly under sixteen, risking life imprisonment if convicted.

Sword Fish Record Near San Diego
Mr and Mrs Thomas Murden report that their niece and nephew Omer and Maude Fenters of San Diego describe two monster swordfish captured offshore near that city. The fish, entangled by nets set by two Italian fishermen to catch barracuda, were drowned after hours of battle as the nets were ruined. Each fish surpassed 14 feet in length and weighed over 500 pounds.
