Lloyd Love Dead in Chili After Typhoid Fever

Lloyd Love son of Mr and Mrs De Love died at his home near Chili after weeks of typhoid fever. Funeral at Chili Methodist Church Saturday at 11 with burial in Chili cemetery. Services led by Rev Lutey and Rev Cook. He was a Peru High School senior and a large funeral crowd attended by the senior class committee.

The Ladies Aid Society announces a market at Millikan Drug Store next Saturday with many tasty foods and ready cooked Sunday dinners available for pickup. Proceeds support society activities and community needs.

Wedding Bells in Chili and Paris Homes

A home wedding at the Doud home in Chili united Miss Emma Doud and Charles Balsbaugh of Denver. The couple will set up housekeeping on the Robert Bond farm. Also, Miss Ida Opple and Roy Guyer wed at the Paris Christian Parsonage with Rev. Smith officiating. They reside on the Guyer farm.

Last Number of Denver Lyceum Course

The final event of the Denver Lyceum season occurs Friday evening in March at the M E Church. The Suwanee River Male Quartette, touted as America’s most extraordinary colored quartet, will close the year, with critics calling them among the best, if not the premier, in the nation.

Prizes Awarded in District by Peru Morning Journal

The contest results list first prize piano to Miss Josie Hostetler, second prize ladies tailored suit to Nettie Whisler, third prize gold watch to Lulu Gustin, fourth prize ten-dollar gold piece to Miss Myrtle Heagy. Miss Gustin and Miss Hostetler also received two sets of silverware for their work.

The Spelling School held at the School building on Friday evening drew old and young, proved delightful, and netted about five dollars for the Denver Epworth League. Another spelling school is likely in the near future.

The Senior Class presents a three act farce titled As A Mistake at Deedsville High School next Saturday evening in a two hour program with music and readings between acts Curtain rises at eight. Tickets cost 25 cents for adults and 15 cents for children.
