Mrs. Elbert Kline, ill for several days, worsened Tuesday evening to a critical condition. Waymire was summoned and Dr Line of Chili assisted. As we go to press, Mrs. Kline is reported to be a little better.
Rural Route 23 updates show Joe Dillman and Horace Cook visiting Peru while W F Newbold P S Sullivan and visitors travel for business and family. The list includes relatives near Mexico Pleasant Hill and Denver, sickness lists, and multiple local calls on weekends and Mondays.
Mrs. Melvin Krisher visited with her parents and relatives Thursday and Friday. Ruth Armantrout was on the sick list for a couple days. Jonas Earhart and wife returned from Roon Saturday. Will McClain, a blind preacher, recently led a revival at the Weasaw church last winter and now conducts a series of meetings at Omega about four miles southwest of Akron. J. A. Hostetler, present last Sunday, says the services attract many converts. Hostetler has preached with McClain for three weeks.
The Miller Garage Co of Peru delivered a large Overland automobile to C. W. Long on Tuesday this week. The 1916 model is described as a neat looking machine and the first delivery of new cars this season in the area.
A joint Miami county teachers institute will be held at Peru high school next Saturday. Prof. Lewis J. Rettger of the Terre Haute state normal school will address the gathering. Rettger has spoken to Miami county teachers before and his lectures are described as helpful.
Perry Cover and family express gratitude to the Fire Co and neighbors who worked to save their home from a Sunday fire. They commend the noble efforts that prevented total loss and extend thanks to all who assisted.
The Kinley family and Mrs Emma McCoy express gratitude to relatives friends and neighbors for kindness after the loss of their wife and mother. Willard Kinley and children Mrs Emma McCoy and son Earl acknowledge Sunday visit with Mr and Mrs W W Sellers and daughter Helen.
Mrs Martin of near Mexico has been critically ill with kidney trouble but is slightly improved after weeks of suffering. Mr and Mrs Greer of near Mexico visited the Rhinebergers this Sunday. Miss Sue Wisher left for Indianapolis to study spring styles at Wholesale Millinery House. Lorenzo Luckenbill of Gelters Ford visits Denver with his parents and renewed his Tribune subscription.
Peru resident Charles KE Dice, Democratic nominee for county surveyor, made a brief stop in Denver Monday during a northern county tour to assess the political landscape.
