Pleasantly Entertained by Methodist Men in Washington Street Home

The Pleasantly Entertained event saw the Methodist Sunday School men’s class host their wives and friends on Washington Street after losing an attendance contest in the fourth quarter of last year. Two plays, Beat It and Dispelling of Big Jim, drew laughter as the male actors faced mistaken identities, with some wives unable to tell who was who. G Shumate performed a negro-styled song, and ventrilo music filled the evening, followed by coffee, doughnuts, apples, and candy. The event left the ladies convinced the men fulfilled their obligation and then some.
