A week of heavy snowfall leaves about ten inches on the ground in this region. The first snowfall occurred Friday with six or seven stones, followed by three to four more inches on Monday. Temperatures remain cold enough to prevent melting.

The Methodist Ladies Aid Society will gather next Wednesday January 5 at Mrs A M Brown's home. Hostess duties are to be shared by Mrs Alderfer Mrs Donaldson Mrs Wright and Mrs Kirkpatrick.

The Baptist Missionary society will hold its next regular meeting on Thursday January 6 1916 at the home of Mrs Mary C Bell.
Mrs Maude Grimes of Saline declares a strict no hunting policy on all her farms. Violations will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
The church presents an all evening Watch Night program from 8:30 p m to midnight with preacher Rev A 8 Lloyd leading prayer and a symposium recounting 1915 by community leaders Mrs William Howes Ben Brower Mrs Lulu Gustin and Lawrence Endsley plus addresses by C F Golden and IL G Jacobs. Prof Dawdy will lead chorus and possibly sing.
Denver Baptist Church names officers across committees. Officers include Joseph Murphy as trustee Tell Murphy as clerk and Oliver Cool as deacon while Charles Golden serves as Sunday School superintendent and Claude Haines as assistant. Bertha Bell leads choristers with Elsie O Blennis as pianist and Rollin Place as B Y P U president with Claude Haines as secretary.
Rev. and Mrs. L. G. Jacobs express appreciation to the Ladies of the M. E. Church for a Christmas remembrance, a three piece aluminum set and fine table linen, in a note published due to Union Revival Meetings delaying church services.
Sam Orr, driving his cream route Monday, was seized by an acute indigestion attack. He reached his sister Mrs. Henry Earhart’s home before a doctor treated him. He returned home and is recovering but cannot drive his route for a few days.
On Christmas evening at Mr and Mrs C M Long home their children and grandchildren gathered except Russell Long and wife. Fay Stuber Effie Moody and Ina provided treats and Santa arrived with a toy filled tree giving Forest boots and a 20th century milk wagon to Cheston and a white elephant to Aly Long. The group toasted gratitude to God and Ina for making the Merry Xmas possible.
The Brethren Sunday School restructured and elected officers and teachers for 1916. Names include Superintendent Clarence Flora and assistants Della Eikenberry and Nora Fouts, with roles in prim and cradle roll, home and temperance departments, missions, secretary, treasurer, librarians, chorister, pianist, and class leaders across Men’s Bible, Loyal Workers, Young Peoples, Friendship, Boys’ Brotherhood, Star, Primary, and Beginners classes.
Mr and Mrs Clyde Dick of Kokomo visited Tuesday as guests of Mrs Dick's father J R Wright and his family.
A complete program for the Union Township Farmers Institute on January 4 1916 at Deedsville is announced with two sessions, a forenoon and an afternoon. Featured speakers include Elizabeth T Stanley who spoke highly at Jefferson Township Institute in Denver and C B Benjamin praised as an able speaker. Everyone is invited to attend.
At a Methodist Sunday School board meeting, teachers and assistants were elected for the coming year. Class 1 Geo M Sturgeon. Class 2 Mrs Elijah Redman with assistant Emma McCoy. Class 3 Mrs Will Howes with L H Dice. Class 4 B F Lee with Ora Kessler. Class 5 Mrs W W Sellers with Eva Grimes. Class 6 Mrs Clauda Guinn with Zora Guyer. Class 7 Mrs Acel Dukes with Roy Marley. Class 8 Mrs Clyde Miller with Sylvia Long as assistant. Class 9 not yet filled. Chas C Pyle listed as general substitute.
Walter Kraning of Courter was severely scalded on the legs while draining water from a steam boiler at his father's home three miles south of Denver. The accident occurred last Wednesday when the water plug was pulled with several pounds of steam in the boiler. The skin peeled below the knee, but a doctor treated the wounds and he is reported to be recovering well.
J. A. Mohler and his wife of Peoria are spending the week with Mrs. Mohler's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Stanton and family.
Richland Township Farmers Institute gathers at Chili Meth odist Church on Monday January 3 with D F Marsh and Mrs Eva B Rohbock as speakers. Prizes awarded in corn cake bread and sewing contests. Afternoon sessions split for ladies and men with music reports and judging results. Dinner served by Ladies Aid Society in Ensley’s Hall.
The notice advertises a quarter beef sale with price inquiries by LONG and MILLER in Denver Indiana. It also promotes a six room residence for $850 with mortgage terms and agent L. H. Dice. Goff's Restaurant offers fresh oysters.
