On Tuesday December 21 1915 Miss Meldora Fisher received a post card shower from friends and neighbors totaling thirty five cards at her Rural Route 4 Peru address. Despite years of invalidity her cheerful disposition endears her to all who know her and she enjoys visits from friends.
The M. E. Sunday School held its officer election on Monday evening. Elected were Foster Long as Superintendent. W. W. Sellers as Asst Superintendent. Sylvia Long Prim Dept Superintendent. Daisy Miller Cradle Roll Superintendent. Alta Dukes Home Dept Superintendent. Mrs. Imhoof Missions Dept Superintendent. Nellie Dukes Asst Superintendent. Dora Kessler Secretary and Treasurer. Eva Grimes Treasurer. S. O. A. Kessler Librarian. Harry Kline Asst Librarian. Helen Sellers Asst Chorister. Mary Howes Asst Chorister. Claudia Guinn Pianist. Nellie Garrison Asst Pianist. Zula Long Enrollment Secretary. Lee Long. The list includes several absent members.
Mrs. Margaret Deeds, about 69, died Monday at nine in the morning at her daughter Mrs Nelson Kindig's home near Deedsville where she resided. Funeral was held at Ebenezer church Wednesday at 1 30 p m conducted by Rev Jacobs with Lewis Gustin as undertaker.

The Brethren Church Young People's Class organized a surprise for Mrs. Della Eikenberry on a Monday evening. Seventeen pupils attended at her home after she finished at the post office, presenting a mesh bag gift and sharing games and guessing centers. Refreshments included apples candy and wraps as the group departed late.
The Union Township Farmers Institute announces a program at Deedsville on January 4 1916 with two sessions. Speakers Elizabeth T Stanley and C B Benjamin are billed as statewide figures and well received. Everyone is invited to attend.
