Memorial for McKinley Yet to Be Built by Subscriptions
An international roundup notes a single national effort in the United States to raise funds for a William McKinley Memorial to be placed over his Canton grave. The McKinley National Memorial Association, led by Judge William K. Day and with Marcus A. Hanna as vice president, heads the drive from Cleveland, Ohio, with governors of states as honorary members. The Washington Arch Association that planned a Potomac bridge has dissolved, leaving the Cleveland group to lead the project. The piece also reports the London conviction of Theodore and Laura Jackson for immoral practices and fraud, with heavy prison terms imposed.
