John G. Cornell born January 18, 1874 at Denver on the Tharp farm died December 14, 1920 at age 46 years 10 months 26 days. He married Maud Y Winegardner December 29 1897 and had two sons Jay and another who died September 14 1899. His first wife died November 12 1899, he married Nellie Stanton October 31 1903. Surviving are wife mother one son two sisters Mrs W H Ovitt and Mrs A C Chandler five nieces and nephews and other relatives. Funeral at Brethren church in Denver Thursday 1:30 pm Reverend Wm Melton officiated burial Skinner chapel cemetery.

Poisoned salmon kills chickens in town
A so called dirty act occurred Saturday when unknown persons threw poisoned salmon into John Simons chicken house. On Sunday 28 chickens died and more fell sick before four additional deaths. Dr Musselman confirmed poison in the dead birds and some salmon and can label were found at the scene.
