M. E. Church Sunday School Institute Prize Awarded

At the Logansport District Sunday School Institute in Kokomo on November 26 and 27 the Sunday School Efficiency Library prize went to our school for highest officer and teacher attendance. The prize consists of ten volumes valuable to superintendents and teachers. Services listed include Sunday school at 9:30, morning worship at 10:30, Epworth League at 6:15, and evening service at 7:00 with Pastor Alvin F. White inviting public attendance.

The Woman's Baptist Missionary Society met with Mrs. Annie Whistler on December 4. Leader Mrs. Maggie Cunningham led songs and prayers, with readings on democracy and scriptural topics such as The Divine Lineage and The Guests Rich and Wise. Infant Max Sherk Dies of Influenza in Logansport

The infant son of Mr and Mrs Russell Sherk died Friday at their Logansport home from influenza. The body was taken to North Manchester for burial on Sunday. The Shers formerly lived in Denver where Mr Sherk worked as an agent. Max was born during their Denver residence.

Hunt Couple Returns From Indianapolis After Wife’s Operation

N. B. Hunt accompanied by his wife traveled to Indianapolis Sunday and brought her home Sunday evening. Mrs. Hunt underwent an operation at Eastman Hospital in that city three weeks ago. She is doing nicely at home and friends and relatives are encouraged by her condition.

Dr and Mrs E S Waymire have returned to their Denver home after months away while the doctor served as a surgeon in the army. He was stationed at Des Moines Iowa. They arrived in Peru on Thursday and reached Denver Saturday morning. The community faced high sickness and Denver people are glad he has been released and can return early.

In critical condition Mr and Mrs Calvin Stumpp and their young daughter travel from Nappanee to be with Mrs Stumpp s father Jerry Burkholder who remains seriously ill with Brights disease and other complications. Burkholder has been in poor health for months and worsened recently as family members provide care at his bedside.
