Miami County plans a week of events in Peru August 14 to 19 to mark Indiana's centennial. Services on Sunday 18th open the week with picnics parades pageants and speeches daily. The Miami County Historical Society will display relics at the Peru library with a large exhibit and relics collection. Merchants offer sales to draw crowds and clear summer stocks.
In a Mary Monitor note the last night of the Chautauqua featured pianist Miss Laura Orth praising the Adam Schaaf piano. The company thanked the management for securing the instrument and noted Orth’s familiarity with Schaaf as she owns one at home.
A large Ice Cream festival and Orchestra Concert will be held Thursday evening August 10 1916 at the Methodist Church in Denver Indiana. Proceeds go to buy new music and the program features the Denver Orchestra noted as the best in the region. The concert is free with ice cream cake and popcorn served. All are invited.
The Miami Circuit Court on July 31 1916 appointed Rhoda A Rhineberger administratrix of the estate of James D Rhineberger late of Miami County deceased. The estate is to be sold. Denver Indiana. Attest Aaron Berger Clerk.

Jefferson Township centennial celebration and picnic at Conner's grove near Mexico drew about five hundred attendees in the afternoon after a threshing lull. Speakers Rev G B Work and Rev William Bender praised local history, with performances by Y W C A girls and the Mexico schools and remarks by Hal C Phelps and Miss Elliott highlighting Indiana Centennial plans.

The Mikesell-Rhodes families schedule their ninth annual reunion for next Sunday at Peru City Park with expected large attendance if the weather holds. A Kerschner-Butt family reunion follows on August 18 at Myres Grove north of Chili after relocating from Denver due to grove destruction.

The annual Deedsville picnic will be held in the grove south of town next Saturday August dth. A full program of speeches songs and band music has been prepared. Those in charge urge everyone to attend bring dinner and enjoy an all day event.
