Denver High School Commencement Fills Brethren Church

The Denver High School commence ment program Thursday evening drew a full crowd at the Brethren church. The Peru based Wilson Carpenter Orchestra provided fine music. Speaker L D Bonebrake of Indianapolis delivered an engaging talk with practical advice for graduates. E B Wetherow, County Superintendent, awarded diplomas. Two graduates already left for North Manchester to pursue teaching training for the next year.

Shower for newlyweds at South Denver home

The Methdist Epworth League held a miscellaneous shower for Mr. and Mrs. Fred Sunday at the Sunday family's South Denver home. About twenty League members attended, games were played, and refreshments of peaches and cream and Nabiscos were served. The couple received many practical gifts for their upcoming housekeeping.

Mrs. Maude Saline and daughter Cecelia left for South Bend with William Grimes, traveling in a Cole car. They were joined by Miss Miriam Grimes and Glen Brown. Miriam may enroll at St. Marys of the Woods College to finish her music studies.

Plans are in place for the Annual County Sunday School Convention to be held at the Miami M E Church on Tuesday April 27 1915 Indiana General Secretary George N Burnie will speak at all three sessions A debate is planned for the evening session with Donald Harter and Miss Montrue Pond opposing Ralph Kinzie and Clarence Jones The convention aims for strong attendance from every school with sessions at 10 00 am 1 30 pm and 7 30 pm

Infant Laure Arline DeWald Dies in Denver

Laure Arline DeWald, 10 months 19 days, died of Cerebro Spinal Meningitis after several weeks illness. Born May 30, 1914, she was the infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles DeWald of South Denver. Funeral services were held at Denver Methodist church with Rev J B Cook officiating. Burial followed in the Denver I O O F cemetery.

Blaze at Albert Bender residence in Denver

Monday morning a small blaze started on the roof of Albert Bender's house on South Payson Street when sparks from the chimney set the dry roof alight. The fire was extinguished before serious damage and without using the fire engines.
