Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon for Rex Whitby, 354, resident, who police say shot and killed himself Sunday at home in Queen Anne after assaulting his wife with a hammer. Mrs Whitby injured, but out of danger at Easton Memorial Hospital. Whitby, a cannery worker married 27 years, leaves a wife, eight children, a brother in Queen Anne and sisters in Baltimore and Philadelphia.

Inclement weather shifted the Delaware Speedway program to Saturday with 24 fast cars. Horace Williams and Paul Walker led heats, Williams winning heat one in Car 41. Senior Scouts Camp at Camp Todd Saturday Night
Last Saturday night September 23 the Senior Scouts camped out at Camp Todd under Mrs Lea Warwick attended by seven girls. A campfire program included two tribes Big Feet and Red Noses with stunts songs games and a 9 30 P M snack of cocoa and marshmallows. We hope Mrs Howard Messick enjoyed it as much as we did.
