Death Bed Mystery at Valverde Hacienda Told

In Guerrero a white stone hacienda near sugar estates held a cursed room famed for sudden deaths. Over six years, three occupants in the canopied bed died mysteriously. A German surveyor, a lawyer, and a captain with his bride perished there, leading to burial and a final discovery of a tarantula nest beneath the canopy. The tale ends with the bed removed and the room sealed.

A collage of curiosities and anecdotes: origins of Piccadilly’s name from gallants and Plecadllin House, a Dublin dance tale about an awaiting earl, a U S postmaster bond remark, praise for Japanese art and natural models, and Corporal Caithness’s Waterloo remark about fearing death rather than defeat.
